Is it necessary to mention the specific request in supplication, or is it sufficient to say, "O Lord," given God's knowledge of what is in the heart, for the desired outcome to be achieved?

The relationship of love between young men and women is not approved by Islamic law. If a man and a woman fall in love, marriage is the solution, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "We have not seen for two who love each other anything better than marriage." If marriage is not feasible, then they must turn away from this attachment. The principle is that a person should supplicate to his Lord and ask Him for his needs, and it is not permissible to abandon supplication relying on Allah's knowledge of the servant's condition. It is more appropriate for a woman to ask her Lord to prepare for her what is good wherever it may be, and to provide her with a righteous husband, for perhaps her marriage to someone other than this man would be better for her, in fulfillment of the Almighty's saying: "But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not."
