Is it permissible to postpone marriage to please one's mother and fulfill a vow to visit Morocco and perform Umrah, even though the young man fears temptation for himself?

Filial piety is one of the best acts of obedience, especially towards the mother. However, marriage is among the good deeds that should be hastened to, due to its many benefits. It may even be obligatory for one who fears falling into temptation. If it is possible to combine marriage with honoring your mother, then do so. Otherwise, prioritize marriage, especially if you need it and fear temptation. Perhaps Allah will open doors of goodness for you through marriage, and then you can fulfill what you promised your mother. The matter is simple, and a mother often understands her child's need for marriage.
