What is the ruling on a wife who neglects her household duties, herself, and her child, despite her husband's attempts to help and encourage her?

A woman's undertaking the affairs of her home and caring for her husband and children is a great deed through which she earns her husband's affection. It is one of the causes of family happiness and a fulfillment of the objectives of marriage. A woman must serve her husband according to what is customarily accepted, for marital life is cooperation and integration between spouses. A husband's assisting his wife in the matters of her home is a blessing and an emulation of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who was at the service of his family. If a woman falls short in her duty without an excuse, she should be advised and informed of the ruling.
