What is the ruling on the increase of menstruation days beyond the usual monthly cycle?

If a woman's customary period is six days, and then the duration increases to nine, ten, or eleven days, she continues to refrain from prayer until she purifies herself. This is because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did not specify a particular duration for menstruation. Allah Almighty says: "And they ask you about menstruation. Say, 'It is a discomfort.'" So, as long as the blood continues, the woman remains in that state until she purifies herself, performs ghusl, and then prays. If her menstruation comes in the following month for a shorter duration, she performs ghusl as soon as she purifies herself, even if it is not the same duration as the previous one. The important thing is that whenever a woman is menstruating, she does not pray, whether it aligns with her previous custom, or exceeds or falls short of it. She prays when she purifies herself.
