Is there an 'iddah for a man if he marries the sister of his deceased wife?

There is no waiting period ( عدّة ) for a man; the waiting period is specific to women. If a man's wife passes away and he wishes to marry her sister, he is not required to wait for the completion of the waiting period for death or any other type; this is because the marriage tie is severed by death, bearing in mind that it is impermissible to marry two sisters simultaneously. However, if a man divorces his wife with a revocable divorce, he may not marry her sister until the divorced wife has completed her waiting period.
