Is it permissible to stand at attention before the military leader, with music accompanying his entrance and exit, knowing that absence leads to investigation, deduction, and imprisonment?

It is not permissible to stand up for a leader as a form of glorification upon his arrival or departure. Al-Tirmidhi narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever is pleased for men to stand up for him, let him take his seat in the Fire."

Ibn Rushd clarified that standing is forbidden if it is done out of arrogance, disliked if there is fear of it being so, permissible if it is done out of kindness and honor without arrogance, and recommended for congratulations or condolences.

This type of standing is among the rituals of tyrants that are alien to Islam and was not known during the Prophetic or Righteous Caliphate eras.

As for music, it is not permissible. Al-Bukhari narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "There will be among my Ummah people who will consider unlawful the use of alcoholic drinks, and silk, and stringed instruments, and musical instruments."

If abandoning these abominations leads to unavoidable harm, then one must search for another job, for "And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out, And will provide for him from where he does not expect."
