What is the ruling on a woman's hair showing, even if it is a small amount (10 hairs)?

A woman's hair is 'awrah by scholarly consensus, so it is not permissible for her to show it to non-mahram men, even if it is a small amount. The preponderant opinion among scholars is that it is also not permissible for her to uncover any part of her face.
