The answer

It is not permissible for a wife to abandon her husband's bed without his permission and without an excuse. However, there is no sin upon her if the abandonment is due to an excuse, such as being harmed by smoke. It is not permissible for the husband to harm his wife with these harmful odors, due to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "There should be neither harming nor reciprocating harm." The spouses should resolve their problems between themselves, and the wife should show affection to her husband and not provoke him. The husband's sisters should speak good words and not incite the husband against his wife. As for the angels cursing the woman, it is not true for every anger that the husband expresses, unless he is angry because she refused his bed. In that case, the angels curse her until morning, due to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "If a man calls his wife to his bed and she refuses, the angels curse her until morning."
