Is the Messenger infallible from minor sins? And what is the belief of the Salaf regarding that?

The Muslim community has agreed upon the infallibility of the messengers in bearing and conveying the message, and that they do not conceal anything of what Allah has revealed to them. They are also infallible from committing major sins. As for minor sins, most Islamic scholars are of the opinion that prophets are not infallible from them, but if they commit such sins, they are not left to persist in them. Rather, they hasten to repent and seek forgiveness for them, and they become more perfect after repentance than they were before the sin.
