What is the ruling on lying to forum members by posting false topics about oneself, and how does one repent from that when unable to delete the posts?

Lying is one of the unanimously prohibited acts in . Repentance from it involves abstaining from it, regretting it, and resolving not to return to it. Denying one's lie in front of those who heard it is not a condition for repentance from lying, unless the lie was a false testimony or slander that harmed a Muslim. In such a case, one must deny the lie in front of those who heard it, along with seeking their forgiveness if possible, or supplicating for them and seeking forgiveness [for oneself]. If a person is unable to delete the false posts, then there is no sin upon him.
