The answer

If the deceased left land that was sold, and your father took the money with the consent of the heirs, it becomes a debt upon him, excluding his share. The value of the currency does not affect the repayment of the debt as long as the currency is still in circulation and has not been abolished. As long as the money was taken with consent and your father was not a defaulter, he is obligated to repay the equivalent amount, even if its value has decreased. It is not permissible to link debts to price levels. However, if the money was taken by force, or he defaulted on repayment and the purchasing power decreased by more than one third, then he must compensate the debtor with the value of the money on the day he took it, or its equivalent in gold at that time. It is recommended for the father to compensate his siblings, in consideration of their kindness.
