1 min readAlso available in العربية

In Lisan al-Arab, "al-maniha" refers to a she-camel or ewe given to another person to milk, after which it is returned. From this comes the hadith: "Is there anyone who would withhold a she-camel from his camels for a household that has no milk?" It may also be applied to an absolute gift, and from this comes the hadith: "The best of charity is al-maniha, which goes out with dinner and returns with dinner."
