What is the significance of the Islamic shroud for the deceased, given that people on the Day of Resurrection will be raised naked as their mothers bore them?

Among the greatest benefits of the shroud is to conceal the deceased from the eyes of those who bury him, cover his nakedness, and hide any changes that might occur to his body, in addition to complying with the Legislator's command regarding the obligation of shrouding. As stated in the Hadith (definition): "When one of you takes charge of his brother (after death), he should prepare his shroud well." And his (peace be upon him) saying concerning the pilgrim in Ihram (definition) who died at Arafat: "Wash him with water and sidr, and shroud him in his two garments."
