Who are the Karramites, what are their ideas, and what is the stance of the People of the Sunnah and the Community concerning them?

The Karramiyyah are a sect of the Murji'ah, followers of Muhammad ibn Karram al-Sijistani. They differed from the Sunnis (Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah) regarding the reality of faith (iman). Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah warned against Irja' (postponement of judgment) and clarified its danger to the Ummah. Ibn Taymiyyah transmitted statements from the Salaf (pious predecessors) condemning Irja' and its danger, among them the saying of Al-Nakha'i: "Their tribulation — meaning the Murji'ah — is more feared for this Ummah than the tribulation of the Azariqah," and the saying of Al-Zuhri: "No innovation has been introduced into Islam that is more harmful to its people than Irja'."
