Have groups in Islamic history ever definitively rejected the Sunnah, as those who call themselves "Ahl al-Dhikr" do?

The Kharijites of old, and the Quranists of today, only adduce the Qur’an as proof. This is a refutation against them, based on the hadith narrated by Al-Miqdam ibn Ma'dikarib (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Behold, I have been given the Book and its like with it. Verily, a time is coming when a satiated man, reclining on his couch, will say: 'Adhere to this Qur'an. What you find in it of permissible things, declare permissible, and what you find in it of forbidden things, declare forbidden.'" Al-Khattabi said: This warns against opposing the Sunnahs established by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), which are not mentioned in the Qur'an, as was the view of the Kharijites and the Rawafid.
