What is the ruling on not verbally condemning evil and sufficing with (condemnation by) the heart when there is hardship, knowing that it is difficult to avoid the company of those who commit evil?

Enjoining good and forbidding evil is an obligation upon a Muslim towards his Muslim brother, as stated in the : "Religion is [sincere] advice." Therefore, one must advise relatives and guide them to the truth. If they do not respond and persist in disobedience, then do not associate with them. This is not considered abandonment or severing kinship ties, as long as refraining from associating does not lead to a greater harm.
