Are the children of a Muslim woman married to a Christian man attributed to their father?
The marriage of a Muslim woman to a polytheist is forbidden and invalid by consensus, based on the Almighty’s saying: ﴿And do not marry polytheistic men [to your women] until they believe.﴾ This woman must separate from this man; otherwise, she will be an open adulteress.
As for the children: if the man believes the marriage to be valid, the children are attributed to him; otherwise, they are not. In both cases, their religion is Islam, and they follow their mother.
