What is the ruling on a girl likening a chicken's heart to a human heart when she says: "Indeed, the hearts of the children of Adam are between two of the fingers of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious; He turns them as He wills"? And does she incur sin thereby?

The creed of Ahl al-Sunnah (definition) wa al-Jama’ah is to affirm Allah's names and attributes as befits Him, without anthropomorphism (tamthīl) or denial (taʿṭīl). However, mentioning some attributes or pointing with a finger to clarify them may lead to sedition (fitnah) among the common folk, causing them to fall into anthropomorphism or denial. Therefore, some choices should be left unstated to avoid this. Al-Bukhari narrated from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: "Speak to people in a way they understand. Do you want Allah and His Messenger to be denied?" And it is authentically reported from Ibn Mas'ud: "You do not narrate to a people a hadith (definition) that their minds cannot grasp, but it will be a source of tribulation for some of them." What is mentioned in some hadiths concerning gestures is interpreted as permissible only if there is no fear of fitnah, like the hadith of Ibn Umar regarding the gesture when reciting the verse: "And they did not appraise Allah with true appraisal."
