The most that has been narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding prayer after Dhuhr is four rak'ahs, as he said: "Whoever prays four before Dhuhr and four after it, the Fire will not touch him." Absolute supererogatory prayer has a wide scope, and prayer is the best deed. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, advised Rabi'ah al-Aslami to prostrate frequently. So, whoever prays much between Dhuhr and Asr has done good, for voluntary prayer is desirable at all times except during the forbidden times.
