Religious knowledge is divided into Fardh Ain (individual obligation) and Fardh Kifayah (communal obligation). Fardh Ain is that knowledge upon which the understanding of acts of worship and transactions depends. Fardh Kifayah is that which, if undertaken by some, absolves others.
