Is it permissible to use donation money collected for building a new Islamic center in three cases: demolishing two houses adjacent to the old center and building a new structure in their place, or purchasing new land to build a center in another area within the city, or selling the plot of land located outside the city?

It is permissible to use the collected funds to demolish two houses and build an Islamic center, or to purchase new land in another area if that is better and more beneficial for Muslims. Similarly, selling the existing plot of land outside the city is permissible. The preponderant opinion is the permissibility of exchanging a waqf (endowment) for the sake of benefit, whether its utilization has become difficult or to achieve something better, as stated by Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and ruled upon by the Permanent Committee for Issuing Fatwas, provided that the matter is carried out with the consultation of those in charge of the funds to ensure the general welfare.
