What is the ruling on same-sex love, and is there any evidence in the Quran or Sunnah prohibiting it, and why did Allah not mention that homosexuality is forbidden?

If what is meant by homosexuality is the practice of sodomy between males or lesbianism between females, then this is a grave sin and the act of the people of Lut (Lot), forbidden by consensus. Its ruling is not altered by calling it "homosexuality," "love," or "inclination." However, if what is meant is merely sexual inclination or admiration without practice, then this is a deviation from the natural human disposition (fitra) that must be avoided by staying away from its causes, such as being alone with someone one is inclined towards or looking at their private parts. One must lower their gaze to protect their chastity. And a Muslim must strive in obedience to Allah and supplicate to Him to avert this evil from them.
