In which verse is wine mentioned in Paradise, and why was the word "wine" used for it, knowing that it differs from the wine of this world?
Allah Almighty mentioned the wine of Paradise in His saying: "The description of Paradise which the righteous are promised is that in it are rivers of water, the taste of which does not change, and rivers of milk, the taste of which does not change, and rivers of wine, delicious to those who drink it." Allah forbade wine in this world due to its harm, and permitted it in the Hereafter as a delicious drink devoid of the defects of worldly wine, such as headaches and the removal of intellect. Wine was named thus either because it was left to change, or because it mixes with and covers the intellect.
