Is lying about not owning an earphone to avoid giving it to someone who is thought to use it for listening to music considered a blameworthy lie, and what should one do if the earphone is requested for the same purpose?

Lying is forbidden by Islamic law and is one of the major sins. It is not permissible to lie to prevent someone from using headphones to listen to forbidden things. Rather, one must explicitly tell him that he is refused the headphones because he would use them for something forbidden, as this constitutes cooperation in sin and aggression. He should also be advised to stop listening to forbidden things, for the believer is honorable through obedience to his Lord and fears no blame from any critic.
