What is the ruling on standing for greeting and kissing, and kissing the hand and bowing in greeting, and what is the evidence for the permissibility of kissing and embracing?

It is permissible to stand to greet an arriving person, and it is permissible to kiss the hand of one's parents, a scholar, or a just ruler. However, bowing as a greeting is never permissible, because it is in the meaning of rukoo’ (bowing in prayer), and rukoo’ is not permissible except to Allah Almighty.
