Is it permissible, in Sharia, to sell a crop or take a down payment for it approximately four or five months before its ripening, knowing that it has been damaged by rain?

It is impermissible to sell agricultural crops before their suitability for harvest becomes apparent, and it is also impermissible to take a deposit for such a sale, due to the prohibition of the Prophet (peace be upon him) against it. However, if the contract focuses on the seller's obligation to provide a specific quantity upon the due date of delivery, this is called a salam contract and is permissible under certain conditions, one of which is the full payment of the price at the contracting session. The spoilage of the fruits does not affect the contract because the object of the contract is a described commodity held in trust (in the seller's liability).
