Is it permissible to carve wood in the shape of an animal without eyes or a mouth, under the pretext that the image resides in the face?

Figurative sculptures of animate beings are Haram by consensus, for a figure is only recognized by the presence of a head. If the head is removed, there is no figure. And if the facial features are obliterated by removing the eyes, nose, and mouth, then it is hoped that there is no sin in that. However, it is better to avoid all of that to steer clear of doubts.
