If the viscous fluid is white, it is "al-Qassah al-Bayda'" (the white discharge), which is a sign of purity. If it is yellow or turbid, it is "as-Sufrah wal-Kudrah" (yellowish or turbid discharge), and it is considered menstruation if it is connected to the menses before or after it. However, it is not considered menstruation if it appears after purity and is not connected to it.
