It is not permissible to obey them in this matter, for obedience is only in what is right and lawful. The girl should be patient and seek her reward from Allah. She should not obey her parents in what they desire. She should also use various means to convince them, such as a beneficial book or an influential audio recording, connect them with righteous people, and be wise and gentle in her speech.
