Is the supplication that God bless the newborn and protect him from harm, while not desiring to have more children, considered an act of ingratitude for God's bounty?

Supplicating for blessings upon a newborn and for their protection is permissible and answered, especially if it comes from one of the parents. As for supplicating not to have children in the future, it is feared that this might be an aggression in supplication, because procreation and increasing offspring are desirable in Islamic law and a purpose of the Sharia. Supplicating for it is like exchanging what is inferior for what is better, just as the Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) rebuked the Children of Israel for their request. Therefore, it is recommended not to supplicate with that and to thank Allah for the blessing of procreation.
