ما معنى الحسب والنسب؟

"Hasab wa nasab" (lineage and noble descent) refers to a noble family and honorable ancestry. This is one of the reasons for marrying a woman, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A woman is married for four reasons: for her wealth, for her lineage, for her beauty, and for her religion. So, choose the one with religion, and you will prosper." Al-Shawkani explained "hasab" as honor gained through relatives and good deeds, not through wealth, as wealth was mentioned before it.
