When did the Prophet consummate his marriage with his wives, at what time of year, and was it on a Thursday?

It is reported in the Two Sahihs that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, married and consummated his marriage with Aisha in Shawwal, and Aisha preferred that her women [brides] be brought to their husbands in Shawwal.

Al-Shawkani holds that the Prophet's marriage in Shawwal was not intentional, but rather a coincidence, and its mere occurrence does not indicate desirability. For if it were so, consummation would be desirable at every time the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, married.

Therefore, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, had no specific guidance regarding the timing of holding a wedding ceremony or consummation.
