Is it permissible for a Muslim in Algeria to break their fast based on the sighting of the moon in Saudi Arabia, or must they complete the thirtieth day of Ramadan in Algeria if Eid has been confirmed in Saudi Arabia?

Scholars have differed on the issue of all Muslims being obliged to fast and break their fast based on the sighting of the crescent moon in one country. The most sound opinion is to act upon the difference in moonrise locations, to avert discord and negate disagreement. And whoever believes that the sighting in one country obligates everyone, let him act upon that secretly. It is more appropriate for a Muslim to fast and break their fast with the people of the country they reside in if the sighting is legally established, acting upon the hadith: "The fast is the day you fast, the breaking of the fast is the day you break your fast, and the sacrifice is the day you sacrifice." You are not obliged to make up the day you broke your fast by following your husband, though making it up as a precaution is good.
