- How can amusement be an act of worship? And what is permissible amusement and what are its conditions?

Vain pursuits can become acts of worship and closeness to Allah if they are permissible, intended as a means to aid in obedience, and do not lead to neglecting an obligation. The Shariah has indeed specified certain lawful entertainments that can transform into acts of worship. For instance, "Every amusement of a Muslim is vain except his shooting with his bow, his training of his horse, and his playing with his wife." These matters are considered rightful, and by analogy, anything that aids in the truth, whether in knowledge or action, can be included if it is among permissible things. This includes racing on foot, with horses, or camels, and walking for leisure with the intention of strengthening the body and refreshing the mind.
