What is the ruling on a Muslim praying alone in his home if he is bothered by odors emanating from the clothes of other worshippers, or by some worshippers raising their voices during audible or silent prayers?

There is no dispensation to miss congregational prayer in the mosque due to noise or foul odors from some worshippers. Rather, anyone with a foul odor must be prevented from entering the mosque, and he should be ordered to leave it if his odor is detected, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did. The questioner should advise these individuals gently and wisely to cleanse themselves and use a miswak. If that does not work, the matter should be referred to the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice.
