Is a person held accountable for heartfelt emotions such as love and hatred, even if they do not manifest in actions that exceed what is reasonable?

A person is not held accountable for their thoughts unless they act upon them or speak them, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, Allah has pardoned for my Ummah that which they whisper to themselves or think about, as long as they do not act upon it or speak of it." It is not permissible to establish a relationship with a foreign woman except through marriage. If the love for a female friend is for the sake of Allah, it is rewarded. However, if it is merely an inclination in temperament, or an attachment and infatuation, then it is a harmful love and a means for Satan, and one must rid oneself of it. Hating someone in itself is not sinful unless it leads to a forbidden act, such as abandonment or severance of ties.
