What is the ruling on wearing gloves during prayer, and do they prevent the places of prostration from touching the ground?

There is no harm in praying with gloves; as it is not a condition for the hands to directly touch the ground during prostration. The prayer is valid according to the four madhhabs (schools of thought) even if the worshipper prostrates on a folded turban, his sleeve, or his garment’s tail. The opinion of the Shafi’is regarding the obligation of uncovering the palms is weak even within their own school, and the correct view is contrary to it.
