Is there no justice among people in this world, given the disparities in their provisions for livelihood and the means for worldly and otherworldly affairs, which may afflict some with worry and grief despite their good intentions and diligent supplication? And how can a Muslim continue to supplicate, being certain of an answer, despite a prolonged period of hardship and the lack of change in the situation, taking into account the restless nature of humans and what is stated in the noble Hadith about holding onto one's religion being like holding onto a burning ember?

Allah is All-Wise; He places things in their rightful positions and does not destine anything in vain, but rather for profound wisdom. Human intellects are incapable of grasping the secret of His wisdom in all His decrees, and objecting to His judgments is ignorance and injustice that necessitates repentance. To think ill of Allah and that He does not give to those who deserve is a thought of the Age of Ignorance (Jahiliyyah). One should think well of Allah and believe in His wisdom and justice, for He wrongs not mankind in anything. Most people think of Allah other than the truth and feel that their rights are diminished and their fortunes are curtailed, and this requires repentance and seeking forgiveness. The ease of worldly affairs is not a sign of honor, nor is their difficulty a sign of disgrace; for Allah gives the worldly life to those whom He loves and those whom He does not love, but He does not grant faith except to those whom He loves. True happiness is achieved through obedience to Allah and contentment with His decree, and by knowing that what Allah destines is the true benefit. The cure for perplexity lies in strengthening one's connection with Allah, striving in His worship, and turning to Him, which brings about a good life. Supplication (Du'a) is a great act of worship, and Allah answers the supplicant as long as he does not hasten, so He either answers him, or averts evil from him, or stores it for him on the Day of Resurrection.
