Is Muhriz ibn Khalaf a descendant of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him, and did he fight the Ubaydiyyun in Tunisia?

Sheikh Muhriz ibn Khalaf al-Tunisi, known as al-Abid (the Worshiper), was among the great righteous and ascetic individuals, whose supplications were answered. He was a descendant of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq and passed away in the year 413 AH. Regardless of his righteousness and lineage, it is not permissible for anyone to supplicate to him, seek his aid, or direct any form of worship to him instead of Allah. Directing worship to other than Allah is major shirk (polytheism) and expels one from the fold of Islam, even if the one to whom it is directed is a close angel or a sent prophet. Intercession is to be sought from Allah alone, and not from the dead. Seeking it from them is an innovation that may lead to major shirk.
