Is it permissible to carry a small Mus'haf with the intention of seeking blessings from it to alleviate fear?

There is no harm in seeking blessings from the Mus'haf (Qur'an). However, carrying the Mus'haf requires ritual purity (tahara) according to many scholars, such as the Shafi'is and Malikis. The Malikis, however, make an exception if the Mus'haf is among other belongings and the intention behind carrying is those belongings, not the Mus'haf itself. The Hanbalis and Hanafis differed from them, permitting the carrying of the Mus'haf without purity as long as there is no direct touching of it. It is necessary to strive to address the psychological condition of the person concerned and remove their incorrect perception about cars, clarifying that most car rides are safe, and that whoever maintains the remembrance of Allah will not be harmed by anything, Allah willing.
