Is what was read on one of the websites about a bright light appearing every night from one of the graves in the Martyrs' Cemetery next to Mount Uhud, and believed to be the grave of the Companion Hamza ibn Abd al-Muttalib, may Allah be pleased with him, true?

First: The news of light emanating from the grave of Hamza, may Allah be pleased with him, has not been authenticated. The newspaper that published the news is not credible, and the image alone is insufficient to prove it due to the possibility of alteration. If the news were true, reliable media outlets and scholars would have widely reported it. It is imperative to verify news and not disseminate it until its authenticity is confirmed, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: (And pursue not that of which you have no knowledge; surely the hearing, the sight, and the heart, all of these shall be questioned about).

Second: The Ahl al-Sunnah (definition) wa al-Jama'ah (Sunnis) believe in the karamat (miraculous graces) of saints and righteous people, which are extraordinary occurrences displayed by Allah as an honor to them. It is not religiously impossible for light to shine from the graves of the righteous as a karamah for them, and similar karamat have been reported in the books of scholars. The martyrs of Uhud, especially Hamza, may Allah be pleased with him, are among the best of Allah's saints, so the appearance of karamat for them is not unlikely. However, a karamah is only established by actual proof.
