Is it true that one rak'ah or one surah in the Sacred Mosque is equivalent to a thousand rak'ahs or surahs elsewhere, and if so, does reciting Surat Al-Kahf once in the Sacred Mosque equate to reciting it a thousand times?

What is mentioned in the authentic Hadith is the multiplication of the reward for prayer in the Sacred Mosque, such that the reward for a single prayer therein is like the reward for one hundred thousand prayers. As for the multiplication of the reward for a surah of the Qur'an by this number, there is no evidence to support it. Although virtuous places do multiply the reward for good deeds, including reciting the Qur'an, the aforementioned multiplication concerning prayer is in the reward, not in fulfilling the obligation. Therefore, whoever vows to recite a surah by the mentioned number must recite it as stipulated in the vow, and reciting it in the Sacred Mosque or elsewhere is not sufficient.
