Does reciting the Qur'an from the book "Al-Hisn Al-Hasin" grant the same reward and merit as reciting it from the Mushaf?

The reader of the Qur'an is rewarded with a good deed for every letter, and a good deed is multiplied tenfold, whether they read from memory, from the Mushaf, or from its sections.

As for the booklet "Al-Hisn al-Hasin," if the questioner means "Al-Hisn al-Hasin min Kalam Rabb al-Alamin" (The Impregnable Fortress from the Words of the Lord of the Worlds), then this booklet contains severe errors and fallacies. The Permanent Committee has issued a fatwa prohibiting it for several reasons:

1. It includes seeking intercession through the blessing of the Prophet (peace be upon him) to achieve benefits or repel harm. This is forbidden because it is a means leading to shirk (polytheism). 2. The author's claim, and that of some who know him, that this amulet is beneficial, is a statement without knowledge, contrary to Islamic law, and a form of shirk. His claim that it is an impregnable fortress is a lie and a fabrication, for Allah is the Protector, and there is no fortress except what He has made a fortress, and this has not been proven in the Qur'an or Sunnah. 3. Taking that copy as an amulet is a type of wearing talismans, which is shirk contradictory to reliance on Allah, whether it is from the Qur'an or not. This copy is a mixture of Qur'an and other things, and taking it as an amulet is forbidden.

It also states in the fatwas of the Permanent Committee: "As for the books [Al-Hisn al-Hasin], [Hirz al-Jawshan], and [Al-Sab'a al-'Uqud], taking them as amulets is not permissible."

If the questioner's ultimate goal with this book is to read the Qur'an away from ostentation, then this is a good objective that can be achieved by acquiring a Mushaf divided into sections or by downloading the Mushaf on a mobile phone.
