What is the ruling on a marketer benefiting from a percentage of the sales of those he invited to work as marketers on the site, up to the fifth level, knowing that the participants are aware of and agree to this arrangement?

This work is multi-level marketing or pyramid scheme marketing. We have elaborated on this and clarified the difference between it and permissible brokerage in Fatwa (definition) No. 60978. The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta was asked about the work of pyramid or multi-level marketing companies, which are based on convincing a person to buy a product and then convincing others to buy in order to obtain increasing commissions with an increase in the number of participants. Their answer was prohibition and impermissibility, with extensive evidence and reasons for this, as stated in Fatwa No. 98250.
