What is the ruling on someone who mistakenly attributes a saying from common speech to the Holy Quran?
If a person did not intend the action and it occurred out of forgetfulness, then there is no sin upon him, for Allah Almighty says: "And there is no blame upon you for that in which you have erred, but [only for] what your hearts intended," and for the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Indeed, Allah has overlooked for my nation mistakes, forgetfulness, and what they are coerced into."
