Such conversations are among the greatest causes of temptation (fitna), so one must repent from them and sever all relations with non-mahram women. Masturbation is forbidden, and its occurrence during the daytime in Ramadan makes it even more prohibited and sinful. If it resulted in ejaculation, then sincere repentance is obligatory, and one must make up that day without expiation, according to the preponderant opinion. Masturbation via phone is forbidden and is a type of fornication (zina).
