What is the ruling on one who watches indecent films and ejaculates, is he considered to have committed zina?

You must advise your friend and remind him of Allah and the impermissibility of watching indecent films. Ejaculating as a result of watching them is another sin. He must abstain from all these sins in obedience to the command of Allah the Almighty: "Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do." (An-Nur: 30). He should hasten to repent and abandon this sin. This act is considered forbidden fornication, but it is not the type of fornication that necessitates the prescribed punishment (hadd).
