A husband must be just among his wives in the division of nights. The wife's right to such division is forfeited if she travels without her husband's permission, or with his permission for her own need and not his. In these cases, the wife has no right to demand compensation for the nights she missed due to her travel, because the division of nights was legislated to achieve companionship at the present time, and its purpose is lost if its time passes. However, if the wife travels with his permission for his need, she is entitled to maintenance and to the division of nights.
