If the wife travels with her husband's permission for her own need, such as visiting her family, her right to a fair division [of nights, among co-wives] is forfeited and she is not compensated for it. This is because the division is for companionship, and maintenance is for enabling enjoyment, both of which are hindered by her travel.
However, if she travels with her husband's permission for his need, then she is entitled to maintenance and the division.
