Who is a widow, and what are her rights in Islamic society?

The widow is a woman whose husband has died. Society and the state must provide her and her orphans with a dignified livelihood. This is their right, as stated in the Hadith (definition): "O Allah, I declare inviolable the right of the two weak ones: the orphan and the woman." This is even more emphasized if she is a widow with orphans, in accordance with the principle of social solidarity in Islam, which encompasses financial and other aspects.
